Monovalent Inactivated Foot and Mouth Disease Vaccine:
 


COMPOSITION:

The vaccine contains virus of FMD type O1/93 locally isolated in Egypt, inactivated by 2- bromoethylamine hydrobromide ( BEI ) and adjuvanated by aluminum hydroxide gel and purified saponin.


 
 
 
 


PROPAGATION SYSTEM:

Baby hamster kidney monolayer cell line (BHK).

 
 
 
 


INDICATIONS:
Protective vaccination of cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats against FMD.

 
 
 
 


INTERACTIONS:
Other vaccination programs should be carried out at least two weeks before or after FMD vaccination.


 
 
 
 


INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

Shake the bottle before use, the vaccine is inoculated subcutaneously in the dwelap 10-15 cm in front of the sternum.
In sheep and goats subcutaneously behind the shoulder or in the middle of the lower side of the neck, press on the injection site for a while then make gentle massage for a short time.
The vaccine gives immunity for 6 months.


 
 
 


VACCINE REACTION:

* A somewhat painful swelling may develop within one or two days at the site of injection which does not influence the general condition of the animals. This swelling subsides within 10 days.
No drop in milk production .

 

 

 
 
 


REMARKS:

* Do not expose the vaccine to direct sunlight or heat.
* Do not inoculate the vaccine intradermally or intramuscularly.
* working animals should given a rest for 4 days after vaccination .

 

 

 
 
 


DOSAGE:

* Cattle & buffaloes 3 months and older 2 ml.
* Sheep & goats 1 ml.

 

 

 
 
 


VACCINE PROGRAME:

* Dairy cattle should be vaccinated every 4 months
* Breeding calves should be vaccinated every 6 months

 

 

 
 
 


STORAGE:

* The vaccine should be stored between 4-8°C.
* Do not freeze the vaccine.

 
 
 
 


EXPIARY DATE:

One year from the date of manufacture.
