Inactivated Rabies Tissue Culture Vaccine:
 


COMPOSITION:

Each one ml of the vaccine 106 TCID50 of ERA Rabies virus strain propagated in baby hamster kidney cells, inactivated by binary- ethylenamine and adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide gel.


 
 
 
 


INDICATIONS:

The vaccine is used for protection of dogs, cats and farm animals against rabies.

 
 
 
 


VACCINATION PROGRAM:


For dogs and cats.
One dose of 2ml is injected subcutaneously (S/C) or intramuscularly (I/M) at age of not less than 2 months and vaccination is repeated annually.

For farm animals.
1) In case of prevention and control:
Cattle and buffalos 5 ml
Horses and donkeys 4 ml
Sheep and goat 2 ml

The above mentioned doses are injected S/C or I/M at age of not less than 2 months and vaccination is repeated annually.

2) In case of bite exposure:
The previously mentioned vaccine doses are injected weekly for three successive weeks. After a period of one week rest, two other doses are given at weekly intervals.

 
 
 
 


REMARKS:

1) In case of prevention and control, animals clinically ill or those weakened should not be vaccinated.
2) The vaccine is safe for pregnant animals.
3) The vaccine should be protected from direct sunlight and high temperature.


 
 
 
 


STORAGE:

The vaccine is stored at 4oC – 8oC. Do not freeze.

 
 
 


VALIDITY:

The vaccine is valid for one year from the date of manufacture.
