Five local field isolates of M.gallisepticum were isolated, identified biochemically and confirmed by fluorescent antibody technique (FAT).

DNA was extracted from both these local isolates and the reference F strain.The DNA Subjected to restriction endonuclease analysis (REA).which showed slight variation between the different field isolates.

Digestion with Bgl iresulted in more numerous cleavage patterns than E.CORI which the lowest DNA cleavage patterns arised from the digestion with Hind III comparing with the DNA cleavage patterns of F-reference strain.From the results in this study, we have the possibility to differentiate between the local field isolates of M.gallisepticum using restriction analysis (REA).
