| Summary |
| |
The Egyptian , Romanian and Kenyan strain of sheep pox virus (SPV) were propagated and titrated individually in VERO cell cultures and the titers were 5.2 log 10 and 5 log 10 TCID 50 / ml for these strains respectively. The viral proteins of these strains were estimated by using spectrophotometer and the values were 0.69 g/dl 0.71 g/dl.

| |
| |
The molecular weight (M.W.) of such viral proteins were found to be ranged between 67 KDa and 17 KDa by using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE).
| |
| |
Using westren blot, the major protein bands of M.W. 67 KDa, 32 KDa and 17 KDa were common between SPV strains while the protein band of 17 KDa was specific for Egyptain and Romanian SPV strain.
