Preparation and evaluation of Avain Cholera Oil emulsion Vaccine
using montanide ISA 206

Summary
 


Evaluation of the ability of stable water-in oil emuslion P.multocida vaccine containing ISA 206 oil as an alternative to whiterex 309 white oil with spane 80 for producing avian cholera vaccine for poultry was done. Ninety chickens, were divded into there grous, [group (1) vaccinated with avain cholera vaccine containing oil Montanide ISA 206 , group (2) vacinated with avain chloera vaccine contaning whiterex 309 white oil with spane 80, while group 3 were kept as non-vacinated control. The inflammatory responses induced by avain cholera ISA206 oil were mild and transient as compared with those induced by avain cholera vaccine contain whiterex 309 white oil with spane 80.

 
 
 


From the results of passive haemagglutination test as well as ELISA, it could be certained that each adjuvant significantly increased antibody level compared with the control. Avain cholera vaccine containing oil Montanide ISA 206 induced eralier response and was responsible for the highest level during the first 6 weeks post primary vaccination.

 
 
 


Also avain cholera vaccine containing whiterex 309 white oil with spane 80 gave higer anti P. multocida antibodies values from 2 months post vaccination till the end the experiment (5 months). Chickens that received avain cholera vaccine containing oil Montanide ISA 206 showed 90 % protection, but chiclens received avain chickens vaccine contaninig whiterex 309 white oil with spane 80 showed 86.6 % protection.
